Ah summer. No school, sun shining and nothing but time to waste. So how about a music festival? All your faves are there (mates and celebs), the food is fabulously greasy and there are endless fashion opportunities – every single one of them involving glitter.
Here are some of the coolest music fans and pop stars on why they love a good al fresco gig.
“I discovered after going to music festivals that I am a rock fan. I love the guitars, the phrasing, and the abandon of rock fans.“
Beyonce isn’t just the queen of pop – she rocks out too.
“I love live music and I love to see people’s faces when I’m performing.”
It’s good for us too, Leighton Meester.
“I met Prince William at a musical festival and he let me know he was a fan of my music.”
Fair to say Ellie Goulding’s festival experiences are pretty different to ours.
“When I do a festival, I want everyone to have a party, I think it is kind of similar to a club where everyone is there to have a good time and celebrate not being at work or just being able to have fun. I love people dancing to my music as well; if I can make them dance I feel happy.”
Katy B definitely knows how to throw a party.
“Finally the day has come to go to Coachella. Free once again. So excited for the live music, the sun, the energy, and did I mention the live music?”
Yep you did, Vanessa Hudgens. You mentioned it.
“I’ve done some really weird gigs. The ones where no one turned up – they’re probably not the interesting ones to talk about.”
Yeah we’ll stop you there, Ed Sheeran.
“I started dragging my parents to festivals, and fairs, and karaoke contests, and I did that for about a year.”
We hope your parents enjoyed it as much as you did, Taylor Swift.
“I have had some of the best times of my life on a Saturday night at Glastonbury”
A little bit of mud never stopped Adele letting her hair down.
“I am not about fringing, cowgirl boots, that kind of Coachella vibe. I just wear something comfortable.”
Georgia May Jagger has one way to avoid festival blisters – comfy shoes.
“My favourite festival experience is a show at midnight with the moon blazing and a crowd full of open hearts ready to dance.”
Lykke Li also loves getting her groove on in the grass.
“If you took me to Coachella for our first date, it would probably be a done deal. It would be a sure thing.”
Wait – was that Ryan Gosling’s first move, Eva Mendes? We heard jazz was more his thing.
“I was literally expecting to come on to a soggy hay bale blowing in the wind.”
Adele again. Always the queen of modesty.
“I might have to start again. I’m a bit out of breath from all that dancing. It’s also an excuse to wipe my sweaty top lip.”
…and Adele again. Because why the hell not.
