You have several tabs open right now don’t you? ASOS, obviously. Topshop, probs. Missguided, Boohoo, Zara, H&M, New Look – the list goes on. Your virtual shopping bags are full of things you’ll never be able to afford and in half an hour you won’t even want, but we just can’t help browsing.
And our more famous friends are just the same. From high street hauls to vintage treasure hunts, here are their pearls of shopping wisdom.
“I love vintage shopping, I think it’s really fun. And I love the feeling of finding the most amazing piece for less.”
Emma Roberts probably isn’t talking about her local Oxfam though is she.
“I’m a bit of a clothes hoarder, admittedly. I try to weed out stuff. My girlfriends come over for cheese and wine and go shopping in my wardrobe. They especially love it when they get stuff with a tag still on.”
Did our invite get lost in the post Jennifer Aniston?
“Whoever said money can’t buy happiness didn’t know where to shop.”
Just imagine having enough money as Blair Waldorf. Imagine.
“I love going to Topshop, Urban Outfitters and American Apparel, I’m in love with their jackets.”
It’s like Chloe Grace Moretz sees right into our souls.
“I’m a real Londoner. We have very grey weather in London, and I think it encourages a very eclectic and crazy fashion sense. I mix high-street stuff with more high-end fashion, and I love vintage.”
Same, Emma Watson. We love mixing our Topshop with our Chanel.
“My jewelry’s all fake – from Claire’s. Or I get it from my mom’s boutique in Barbados. Her shop’s called FAB-U-LUS.”
Rihanna has never been spotted in my local Claire’s, but still good to know.
“I like a little bit of designer, with a bit of vintage and high street mixed in. I love it when you find those one-off key pieces, which end up becoming investment pieces.”
Cara Delevingne probably has a different definition of “investment piece” to us.
“If you’re a queen, you’re powerless, so I’d probably demote myself and go shopping.”
Helena Bonham Carter’s played all kinds of queens, but she knows the power of a royally good haul.
“Yeah, I like clothes, but I hardly ever go shopping. Hardly ever!”
Kate Moss doesn’t know what she’s missing.
“The first thing I do when I’m shopping is touch everything to see if it’s itchy. I remember my mom used to put me in the itchiest clothes ever, and I was traumatized by it, so I won’t wear anything itchy now.”
If Kourtney Kardashian can teach us anything in life, it’s to always try things on first.
