The thing about cooking for someone is that no matter how much you love the process, no matter how much you enjoy watching your loved ones coo over the thing you made and greedily shovel forkfuls of it into their mouth, no one enjoys the washing up. No one. I mean, you love your dad and all, but do you love him enough to wash up three separate pans? (FYI Dad, I would wash up a million pans for you).
But thanks to Rosie Londoner, we can show our dads how much we love them with a full English breakfast *and* only have one pan to wash up. Genius.
The one-pan English breakfast is the stuff of my lazy dreams; eggs, bacon, sausages, beans and tomatoes all smushed in together. And if you’re feeling monumentally lazy, you can just give your dad the entire pan and he can use it as a plate! There is a bit of nuance with the timings of things, which Rosie explains in the recipe, but basically it’s your shortcut to serious daughter kudos.
While you’re in the kitchen you’ll need tunes, so why not throw on some Oasis? They’re having a revival right now, with their anthem Don’t Look Back In Anger moving everyone to tears at the One Love Manchester concert, Liam Gallagher launching his solo career and fans talking about possible chart rivalry with brother Noel.
Family dramz aside, this playlist will probably make your dad smile too. But be warned – it may come with a side of stories about his misspent youth.
