From the best and worst places to be a girl in the country, to social media lies and the real life Gilmore Girls, here’s what we’ve been doing, loving and obsessing over this week…
Hillary Clinton has pneumonia
In case you missed it, the US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton collapsed on Tuesday after attending a 9/11 memorial event. The Democrat candidate later revealed she was suffering from pneumonia which isn’t ideal timing considering, you know, she’s running for President and all. Obviously, Trumpy fans took the opportunity to suggest she isn’t up to the job – but Hillz’ doctor later pronounced her totally fit to be Prez.
In other news, Donald Trump remains fully Donald Trump. Sigh.

We may have found the real-life Gilmore Girls
If you’ve worked your way through all seven seasons of the Gilmore Girls and are anxiously awaiting their return triumphant return to Netflix, we’ve found something that might cure some of your cravings.
A 13 year old girl was sent on a mission to find sanitary products by her mum. The ensuing text exchange, which her mum screen-shotted and uploaded to Facebook, makes Lorelai and Rory’s quick-fire banter look practically boring by comparison. Our favourite quote: “VAGINAS ARE MYTHS WHISPERED QUIETLY IN SECRET AMONG ONLY THE BRAVEST OF MEN, COURAGEOUS ENOUGH TO EVEN MENTION THE NAME”.
Mothers really do know best.
The results are in – and it’s not looking good for girls in Middlesbrough
A report published by Plan International UK and the University of Hull earlier this week outlined the quality of life for girls all over the country. They compared five factors – childhood poverty levels, life expectancy, teenage conception rates, GCSE results and percentage of girls under 18 not in employment – to conclude that life is worst for girls growing up in Middlesbrough.
Turns out the best place to be a girl in the country is Waverley. So guess we’re all moving to… (ok, we had to look it up) Surrey.
Community announcement: don’t believe everything you hear
In her latest video, YouTuber Nikisha Brunson made the bizarre claim that bras give you breast cancer. To anyone who saw this and wondering if there’s any truth to her video, we can confirm that this could not be less true. Even actual Breast Cancer charities are trying to bust this myth.
Also, while we’re at it, there is zero evidence that spray on deodorant gives you breast cancer, either. So bra up and spray away – or don’t, it’s up to you.
Ready, steady, break off: Mel and Sue are dessert-ing Channel 4’s Bake Off
In the news that shocked the nation, GBBO has broken up with the BBC and immediately confirmed that they’re going to start dating Channel 4 instead. What does this mean for all us baking enthusiasts? It means we have to say goodbye to Mel and Sue, and hello to ad breaks. NOT COOL.
