You’ve probably heard rumours about fast food chains having secret menus. Heck, if you’ve ever been to America’s west coast, you’ve definitely ordered your In-N-Out Burger ‘Animal Style’ – despite it not appearing on the regular menu. But, here in the UK, how much truth is there in the wicked snack whispers?
We set out to find out and, despite many chains claiming they have no secret menu, there are definitely hacks to be had. Check ’em out…
1. McDonald’s: The Land, Sea and Air Burger
While the Golden Arches claims it has no secret menu, there are plenty of menu hacks that might as well be official options, considering the buzz they’ve generated online. Take the Land, Sea and Air Burger, much whispered about, probably feared by dieticians around the globe. Land = beef, Sea = fish, Air = chicken, therefore you’ll need to order a Big Mac, Filet-O-Fish and a McChicken, and insert the fish and chicken burgers into your Big Mac. Quite the mouthful – especially if you also use the extra buns.
Too much to handle? Try the Surf ‘N’ Turf instead – as above, minus the chicken.

2. Nando’s: Burrito
You already love Nando’s, but if you want to love it a little bit harder, you have to try the Nando’s Burrito. Achieve by ordering a wrap meal from the ‘Burgers, Pittas, Wraps’ section of the menu, and adding Spicy Rice as your side. When the meal arrives, open the wrap, pour in the rice and re-wrap. Then eat. See, Nando’s Burrito!
3. KFC: Popcorn Chicken Poutine
This is actually a real menu item in Canada (lucky them), but UK KFC fans have worked out how to recreate the Popcorn Chicken Poutine, just by ordering the ingredients and mixing them together. You’re going to want a regular Popcorn Chicken meal to get your fries and chicken, and a regular gravy. Ask for them to be served in a Mighty Bucket, with two slices of cheese on top, as that’s the closest you’re going to get to the cheese curds usually served with poutine. Chop up the cheese with a fork, mix in the gravy and BINGO: Popcorn Chicken Poutine.
4. Burger King: BLT
A pretty well-known ‘secret’, you can ask for bacon on your Whopper or Whopper Junior and turn it into a BLT (with the addition of your beef patty, of course). Nom.

5. Starbucks: Butterbeer Frappuccino
Harry Potter fans, this one’s for you – there’s a secret Starbucks Butterbeer Frap that will have you functioning like Hermione Granger all day (maybe). Ask your barista for a Crème Frappuccino with three pumps of caramel syrup, three pumps of toffee nut syrup and a light sprinkle of cinnamon on top. If they know, they’ll immediately recognise it as a Butterbeer and if not they’ll make it anyway. Just don’t blame us for your 3pm sugar comedown.
6. Shake Shake: Grilled Cheese
It might not be on the menu, but BOY is it good, thanks to the inside out grilled potato buns and oh so cheesy, cheesy, cheese. You don’t have to make this one yourself; just ask for a grilled cheese. Add bacon if you really want to treat yo’ self.

7. Five Guys: Burger Bowl
If you’re trying to be a little healthier in your fast food crusades, there is an option: the Five Guys Burger Bowl. Order a bacon cheeseburger and ask for it in a bowl, then whatever toppings you want. With no bread or fries you can definitely load up on the pickles, peppers and anything else you fancy! It’s almost a salad… right?
Walked to @fiveguys and got a burger bowl for lunch. My favorite! For anyone new to my page, here is how I order: Bacon cheeseburger in a bowl (2 patties) with extra bacon (no extra charge), pickles, grilled onions, green peppers, mustard and mayo. 😋 #fiveguys #burger #burgerbowl #bacon #cheeseburger #lowcarb #lowcarbdiet #lowcarblifestyle #keto #weightloss #weightlossjourney #losingweight #lchf #lchfdiet #macros #lowcarbhighfat #diet #goals #healthy #healthyeating #ketogenic #ketodiet #ketogenicdiet #ketoweightloss #ketosis #ketofam #ketolife #ketocommunity #ketofood
