Weird or wonderful? Snail slime is the new beauty must-try

We’re always hearing about how ‘natural’ skincare is the best, right? Organic almond oil… avocado masks… rosewater… snail slime…

Wait, what? You hadn’t heard? Oh yes. Snail goop is officially now a skincare ingredient. It’s the latest in the wave of groundbreaking (or ground… slithering?) K-beauty crazes to emerge from Korea recently, and it’s finally reached UK shores.

Snail slime (or its proper name, snail filtrate) is packed with glow-giving nutrients like hyaluronic acid, which is super hydrating, and other fancy things like glycoprotein, proteoglycans and copper peptides, which help protect the snail’s skin from damage – and devotees claim it could do the same for yours.

But before you head off into the garden at dawn with an old tupperware – stop. It’s cool, you can buy it in masks from ASOS for £6! And nothing that comes from ASOS could be *that* gross, surely. It might even be the skin-fixer that really brings you out of your shell.
