When someone looks at you, they only see what’s on the surface and often miss a lot of the details. When someone sees you, they see who you are, what you’re actually about. They see more than what’s there in front of them. They’re willing to find out more, at the very least
YouTuber Carrie Hope Fletcher has always been open about her love of fiction (check out her song Boys In Books Are Better), and the joy she feels at getting to write her own shines through this whole book. When elderly Evie Snow dies, before she can pass through to the afterlife she has to left go of the secrets that are weighing her down. What follows is a sweet story involving a messenger dove, drawings which come to life, and a heap of LGBT representation. You need to suspend your disbelief for this one, but it’s perfect to read snuggled under a blanket with a cup of tea.
